Hi everyone, welcome to my portfolio!
My name is Mikayla Terlizzi and I am a 20-year-old undergraduate student at Rutgers University – New Brunswick. I am originally from Colts Neck, New Jersey, and I’m currently a Junior. I recently transferred to Rutgers University from Seton Hall University and I plan on majoring in English to pursue a career as a teacher!
During my spring semester of Junior year, I plan on applying to one of the Graduate School of Education programs, specifically I would like to apply for the ED.M. in Elementary Education with Initial Certification: Elementary K-6 and Preschool P-3 Teaching (4+1) program. It has always been a dream of mine to teach and inspire young students to learn. My goal as a teacher is to allow students to come to my classroom and want to learn, not just because they have to.
Ever since I was a little girl, I knew that my passion was to teach young students. I always would play school growing up with my sister and pretend to be a teacher while she is a student. In the future, my goal is to teach 3rd grade students. I am comfortable with teaching all subjects! I hope that one day I can become a dedicated teacher who will help my students grow.
